The National Infantry Museum in Columbus is one of the top places to visit in Georgia. It has a 5 star rating by Trip Advisor and boast well over 70,000 different exhibits including combat simulators, an IMAX movie theatre and lots of educational activities for kids.
This summer, CWK campers will take over the National Military Musuem in grand style. We'll do a small group, self-guided recon experience that encourages close-looking and self-directed examinations of museum artifacts--all designed for specific age groups.

The artifacts take campers through all major American wars from the Revolutionary War through our current conflicts. The museum also has artifacts on the Buffalo Soldiers and other military groups of interest.

On Friday, June 28th your camper will be a part of our movement to inspire youth. Here is important information to make sure that your camper doesn't miss out:

Arrive at 6:30am. We will leave campus promply at 7am and expect to return no later than 5pm barring Atlanta traffic. You will not be refunded if you miss the bus. Please review our field trip refund policy.​

Campers 8 yrs and above, with a signed waiver, will have the option to participate in a simulated Non-combative Evacuation Operation (NEO) to resue friendly US Civilians in a HMMWV or a UH-60 Blackhawk. They'll climb behind simulated weapons and conduct missions in a reality combat environment.

All campers will watch the popular movie "Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero." It's a story about a young Army private during WWII who adopts a stump-tailed terrier and find themselves in the trences of France faced with unbeatable odds to get home. Will they make it out safely? Find out.

Campers will enjoy a BBQ lunch at a local park with games, playgrounds and organized activities. We'll enjoy lunch at Frank D. Chester Recreation center.

The museum has a gift shop for those who wish to supply their children with extra cash.

The ride to Columbus will take 1.5-2hrs depending on traffic. We'll travel by coach bus. Campers should wear their camp shirts and comfortable walking shoes
