Camp Warrior King is the “funnest” camp around. We’re often described as a camp on steroids. Why? We create a wildly fun atmosphere while building youths’ personal development skills like self-efficacy, confidence, and good decision-making. We also have an educational component that makes learning fun. Does it sound like something you can get behind? If so, we're looking for team members who are motivated camp counselors, babysitters, coaches, students, athletes, artists, teachers, and anyone ready to play hard and be goofy. As a Camp Warrior King staff member, you’ll sharpen your leadership skills and do meaningful work while immersing yourself in creativity and play.

 

Our team is committed to the betterment of children by providing 9-10 weeks of blissful fun in a safe and loving environment--and now, after-school care! Our priorities are serving youths, having fun ourselves, and creating positive memories for everyone involved, from parents to vendors. Life is Good.

 

Independent Program Facilitator Responsibilities:

 

  • Plans leads and implements camp/after-school programs for children.

  • Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants.

  • Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.

  • Maintains a schedule for camp participants.

  • Facilitates and creates lesson plans for daily activities.

  • Organizes and leads various small and large group activities.

  • Ensures the cleanliness of the site.

  • Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance.

  • Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the camp program.

  • Records and tracks camper’s dietary restrictions/allergies and ensures their meals/snacks are distributed.

  • Mediates any campers’ disputes.

  • Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program, including knowing the whereabouts of your charges at all times.

  • Maintains constant surveillance of the pool/body of water areas.

  • Attends and participates in field trips.

  • Communicate with parents as needed.

  • Stamina to last through long, hot workdays

  • Mediation skills

  • Able to carry heavy loads (40-50 lbs) and travel hilly and uneven terrain. (summer camp).

  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks outside in various climates.

 

How do you know if you’re the right candidate? 

​

  • Does developing youths in a fun and family-oriented environment excite you?

  • Are you comfortable leading groups of kids on your own while still collaborating with a team?

  • Do you have the stamina to keep up (literally) with 5-15-year-olds bursting with energy and creative potential? And, can you bench press a kindergartener (just kidding -- can you lift up to 40-50 lbs)?

 

  • Camp Dates: 5/28/2024 - 7/26/2024  (one additional move-in day - date TBD)

  • Camp Hours: 7:00 am - 6:30 pm (actual staff shifts will vary, and hours on the final camp day may be extended)

  • This does not include additional training days TBD

  • After-School Care: 2024-2025; 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM/ Monday-Friday

 

Minimal Job Requirements:

​

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Minimum of 2 months experience working with camp–age children, with one year preferred, in either a professional, personal, or volunteer setting. 

  • First Aid & CPR certified before Day 1 of Camp (some locations may require additional certifications)

 

After-School Care Site Directors:

​

  • CWK directors are fun, action-packed, love children & have a take-charge personality.

  • Prior staff leadership, admin & experience with children

       Child-related TCC, CDA, Associate or bachelor's degree, and reliable transportation are required.
 

Compensation Range: $12.00 - $14.00 / hr. 1099 contracted staff workers (Summer Camp).
